Q: Why do you help people manage their wealth?
A: I never had any intention of working in finance. My passion was designing and building things and I always knew I was going to be an architect. That changed on August 14, 1993.
That day I crawled away from a head-on collision with a broken back. An insurance settlement was the impetus to learn about investing. I read everything I could on the subject and in the process, discovered Wall Street's scheme to fleece investors.
That's when I decided to fix it from the inside. I went back to college for finance and earned two of the most difficult and prestigious credentials. Now I'm on a mission to educate investors so they don't become victims of Wall Street.
Q: What's your #1 piece of advice?
A: Live remarkably! The most common deathbed regret isn't something you did. Rather, it's that you didn't do something. So, make your life count and live a story worth telling.
Q: If you could be a superhero, who would you be?
A: Superman. He's the only one with real powers. Duh!
